As I look back on my life, there is one constant that has guided my decisions in life, including my decision to become a financial advisor: a deep-rooted passion for helping others. While I didn’t always know what I wanted to do with my life, I knew that it had to be something where I could invest in others and add value to their lives.
Building My Career
You probably don’t see too many similarities between the medical field and the financial field, but ironically, it was my years working for my family’s ambulance company as a first responder that sparked an interest in the financial field. My experience in this role opened my eyes to the abundance of retirement-aged individuals who are not financially prepared and have no one to help them with important aspects of their life, including their finances. I blended my early passion for investing and finance with my love of working with retirees by becoming a financial advisor in 1993.
My Role Today
After working for a handful of financial firms gaining knowledge and hands-on experience, I was ready to branch out and create my own firm. In 2005, I founded Bridgelight Financial Advisors to help retirees and families bridge the gap between their current financial lives and their future goals with a clear strategic path. I started an independent firm so I could provide personalized, objective, and unbiased recommendations that are best suited to my clients’ needs, focusing solely on them, not on commissions or quotas.
Hurdles And Triumphs
As an independent advisor, I’m also a business owner responsible for operational and administrative issues that can easily steal my time and distract me from the high-value activities I want to focus on, such as working with my clients and offering exceptional service and value. Thankfully, I have an excellent team to support me.
Despite the pressures and challenges, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing my clients find financial peace of mind and experience the freedom to focus on what truly matters to them. That’s what drives me to keep working hard, pursuing my own goals while helping you reach yours.
